You ARE the big picture, your life IS the big screen production, and you ARE the director, producer, and star of your movie.
Does reading that cause you to feel bad? It can since most of us are habitually tuned into the negative, seeing ourselves as failures, living in the past, complaining, regretting mistakes, or finding fault- especially within us. When properly understood, though, the ability to actually choose your life and be the star of your own great movie is so empowering. It sets in motion events and actions that bring about so much good. Life is an amazing journey and every day a gift. Every single thing you have experienced is an important part of your life-movie.
Success and failure both begin in our mind through thought. This is as much a fact as night following day or Sunday following Saturday. Expectation, positive or negative, is always played out in the actions we take and produces the results we experience. Our results always tell the truth about what we are thinking and what we expect. Negative results are meant to show us we need to make correction on our life path and change the way we are thinking and get back on course. Empowering because it is possible!
Look at your own life. Think about positive results you have experienced and the great feeling connected with those results, then turn the page and look at the negative results and notice the feeling associated with those experiences. Wouldn't it be great if no one ever had to experience anything negative? Not really! The truth is, if we properly use such events, we make the needed adjustments and carry on toward the future with wonderful expectation. If we fail to see the negative results in our life for what they really are, we will continue to repeat them until the necessary corresponding lesson is learned and we begin to move forward. This is a law of nature namely, cause and effect.
Negative experiences are not, however, meant to be dwelt upon or used as a measure of future expectation or a license in life long feelings of guilt and sense of failure! When I read posts on social media claiming someone's mistake is not who they are, I know they are trying to convince themselves of this, not me. When we understand how our mistakes make us better through correction and progression, we do not need to magnify them nor do we continue talking about them or even thinking about them. We move on having used them as intended, to benefit us by making us more experienced and better and to help others.
Think of someone you know that is a baby who is learning to walk. The baby does not give up after failing to walk after the first attempt or the one-hundred and first. The baby does not sit down and think he can never walk after a few failed attempts! Nor do the parents say to themselves or the child, "he is a failure.'" No, the baby falls, bumps his little head, cries, and gets back up and keeps trying until walking is mastered and in a short time, he's off and running. Why don't we as adults have the same mental outlook about our own failures?? Why do we live the majority of our lives thinking we are a failure because of this or that error? We do this because we have been conditioned by our environment to let the events in our life dictate how we see our future and our self. As a small child we receive a bad grade in school, the paper or report card goes home, the parent sees the grade. The child is reprimanded and possibly punished, and negative feelings are set up in association with mistakes or failures by the reaction of other well meaning people. This sets the tone for a life-long feeling of failure, poor and ineffective thought patterns, and finally continual guilt about the very experiences that are meant as guidance to help us!
How do we correct this, is it even possible? Oh yes, it is possible and so is permanent change. We can live from the very moment we understand how to implement change, in a more positive and successful way than ever before by changing how we think. So simple, yet so misunderstood. Awareness leads to freedom, changed thought leads to changed life, worthy goals lead to success.
Aren't you tired of living in the past, feeling like a failure, living a life of regret, shame, guilt, and disappointment? There is a better way and it is much easier than you think.
Let me help you learn a better way and find the purpose in life you are meant to have and deserve! Start now looking toward the future with great expectation! It's time to wake up and be the star of your own movie, a truly award winning story that is unique and important. Stop living from the outside in, live from the inside out. Life is a wonderful experience, mistakes and all. You can do this, I believe in you!
